Cancer Research
Cancer Research
Since 2001, PETRONAS has supported Cancer Research Malaysia (CRM) in advancing precision medicine, cancer prevention, and treatment for Asian populations. Through the Initiative for Precision Medicine in Paediatric Cancer Therapy (IMPACT) programme, research in 2023–2024 improved turnaround time for minimal residual disease (MRD) analysis, enabling faster and more effective clinical decisions.

The Patient Navigation Programme has played a pivotal role in streamlining cancer care, treating 332 newly diagnosed patients, managing 5,254 clinic visits and handling 829 referrals in 2024.

Through grants to the Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF), Yayasan PETRONAS supported two key initiatives: the MyLady Assistance Scheme, which empowers 30 single mothers and women living with HIV through microcredit loans for home-based businesses; and the SAGA Health Access Programme (SHAPE), which assists B40 patients in rural Sabah living with HIV, Thalassemia, or paediatric illnesses—by subsidising travel costs for hospital and clinic treatments.
