Yayasan Petronas | Where Good Flourishes

Powering Knowledge

A nation’s future is built on the strength of its education system. In 2024, Yayasan PETRONAS advanced inclusive education by strengthening STEM learning and expanding into Special Education Needs (SEN). Through teacher development and hands-on learning facilities, this holistic approach empowers both students and educators to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Supporting multiple levels of education with a holistic approach

We are committed to cultivating a generation of critical thinkers, problem solvers and innovators by supporting an education ecosystem that empowers educators and students alike.

This approach involves supporting multiple levels of education with a holistic approach — from strengthening teachers’ capabilities in delivering effective Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) classes to venturing into Special Education Needs (SEN) — to ensure that the learning experience is dynamic, inclusive and sustainable.

Bridging educational gaps and expanding access

By bridging educational gaps and expanding access to quality learning opportunities, our mission is to ensure that students of all backgrounds have the resources and support they need to thrive, regardless of socio-economic status or learning abilities.

Our initiatives in 2024 reflect a strategic shift beyond individual programme interventions to a comprehensive education support system designed for long-term and sustainable impact. We are continuously exploring ways to extend our reach and ensure that Malaysia’s young minds are equipped to flourish in a rapidly changing world.

Through STEM empowerment, teacher development, and SEN inclusion, Yayasan PETRONAS is shaping a future where every student can thrive in an environment of innovation and adaptability. This holistic approach strengthens STEM excellence while affirming education’s vital role in driving Malaysia’s economic and social progress.

Past Programmes

At Yayasan PETRONAS, we have continually supported both educator operators and students alike, making education meaningful since our conception.

Asrama Harian Luar Bandar

Asrama Harian Luar Bandar

Students from rural areas often have to travel for hours to reach school. To help remove education barriers, alleviate socio-economic pressures and tackle student dropouts, PETRONAS is building two Rural Daily Hostels in Pulau Balambangan, Sabah, and Paloh, Sarawak, which provide a transit location en-route to school and back during the day and week. Through its foundation, Yayasan PETRONAS, has taken a significant step by funding the furnishing of the hostels.

Program MRSM Budi PETRONAS
